Financial Wellness

Wellness Wednesday- Financial

Welcome to part 3 of our 8 week Wednesday Wellness Blog. As a health and wellness company, we would be crazy to say that CBD can cure all of our woes and worries. In fact, it can't. When used as a part of a larger healthy lifestyle it can help alleviate issues and ensure you live the best and most balanced life you can. The 8 dimensions of wellness that have been identified by psychologists in their field include:

  1. Emotional
  2. Environmental
  3. Financial
  4. Intellectual
  5. Occupational
  6. Physical
  7. Social
  8. Spiritual

Each dimension of wellness, when balanced with the other, can create the necessary roadmaps to living a healthy balanced lifestyle. Below I will discuss how to be "financially well" and how CBD can play a role as well.

Financial Wellness

While you may think financial wellness means being "rich" it simply isn't true. Financial wellness is a personal state and each person is able to achieve it no matter the size of their income. Financial wellness refers to the relationship that you have with money and managing resources. It is also refers to your ability to "make good consumer choices and seek out appropriate financial opportunities".

When talking about a financial well-being it is important to note that it refers to the current time as well as present future. How are your finances now and how will they be in the short and long term? There are several factors that can influence your financial well-being that include your: social and economic environment, personality and attitudes, as well as knowledge and skills.

I am not going to pretend to be well versed in financial planning but I can give you some tips to help you along the way.

How you can help with Financial Wellness

A few tips and tricks to help you along the way:

Seek out a professional- if you find that paying bills is becoming harder and harder, or you aren't equipped to handle any future financial shocks seek out a counselor. You can often find these services for free through local churches or religious organizations. There are also personal financial planners that you can hire to help you overhaul your monthly budget for free and start saving for the future. I have personally heard a lot of people have had luck with Dave Ramsey, might not be a bad place to start.

Live within your means- this is a pretty vague blanket statement but also a necessary reality check sometimes. I have to remind myself all the time to live within my means. Personal example: I don't a new kitchen appliance I just want one. I have started doing my own nails at home instead of running to the salon every 3 weeks as well which has saved us a pretty penny! We all have wasteful habits that, when recognized, can be eliminated to help get our spending under control and on the right track.

Focus on the future- Do you have future goals that require a pretty penny? For instance, wanting to move but need to boost your credit score and pay off debt? Desperately wanting to take your family on that vacation you've been promising them for years? Whatever it may be, doing something as simple as creating a vision board can help set you up on the right track. Write your goal down, plan out the steps you need to get there, and start implementing. This will help you take back control of your finances where you may feel they have gotten off track!

How can CBD help with Financial Wellness?

::blank stares at screen::

Remember how I said CBD isn't the only answer to health and wellness. Well, unfortunately it doesn't appear there is much that CBD can do to help you financial wellness.

The one thing it CAN help you do is control your stress and anxiety. Money related issues are the #1 cause for stress in your personal lives as well as marital issues. Using CBD to help calm your nerves, keep you focused and provide that anxiety relief may come in handy more than one would think. Finances are hard, especially this day and age with medical bills piled up to the ceiling and sea of student loan debt you may feel like you will swim in for years. Just remember, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. THERE ARE RESOURCES OUT THERE!!

Check back next week while we discuss Intellectual Wellness and how you can improve your quality of life.

As always, leave any questions, remarks, or concerns below and we'd glad to get back to you.
